Guns and Hoses Hockey
Guns & Hoses Charity Hockey Benefit Saturday 3/28 Come out and support your local Police and Fire hockey teams.All proceeds will go to the Last Call Foundation in support of Blue Hills regional teacher Katherine Sullivan, who is running this years Boston Marathon for the Last Call Foundation. Admission is 10$ for adults, kids under 10 free. We will have a 50/50 raffle,Chuck-a-puck contest, and raffle items for auction. Puck drops @415 pm with Stoughton Fire/Pd vs Walpole Fire/Pd on the Olympic Rink. Randolph Fire/Pd square off against Westwood Fire /Pd @ 4:50 on the NHL Rink. 2014 Open House October is Fire prevention month. Join us this saturday10/11 for our annual Open House. We will be doing a live burn to demonstrate the importance of sprinklers anf smoke detectors, auto-extrication, station tours, and more. Open house will be held at Station 1 from 10-2pm. Canton Fire Local 1580 Annual Charity Hockey benefit is scheduled for 3/8. It starts at 7 and will have 2 games. 1st game will be randolph Fire/Pd vs Stoughton Fire/Pd. Please join us for our annual Chili Cook-Off on Thursday November 17th from 6pm till 10pm at Wally's Pub, 144 Ashworth Ave., Hampton. Annually the Hampton firefighters locals 2664 and 3017 sponsor local families by providing the needs and wants of local children and their families for Christmas. This is our only fundraiser for the season. Entry is a suggested $5 at the door.

While operating at a stove fire at Summitwoods dr., Norwich dispatch reported to Battalion 1 that they had a fire alarm activation at 66 Franklin Street. Engine 2 and East Great Plains FD were assigned to the fire alarm while companies began to clear the stove fire.  While en route, dispatch advised Engine 2 that they were taking calls for smoke from the second floor.

The City of Oil City is planning on closing 1 of the 2 fire stations on the City resulting in layoffs. The PPFFA and members of L0700 are planning a door to door literature drop on Saturday October 22, 2016. Anyone wishing to attend should be at the PNA Club 410 Seneca St.

Livonia Fire Department battles suspicious fire

The Livonia Fire Department says a fire at a home Sunday afternoon in the 8900 block of Farmington remains under investigation as suspicious in nature. Fire inspector Keith Bo said crews responded Sunday afternoon to the fire at the home near Farmington and Kentucky. He said no injuries were reported as the owner was not home at the time of the incident.

"Westport firefighters tonight assisted Norwalk at a one-car rollover southbound just before Exit 40 in Norwalk. The car left the roadway, then rolled several times before coming to rest on a rock on its roof in the wooded area between the parkway and Creeping Hemlock Lane, said Norwalk Deputy Fire Chief Edward Prescott.

Our brothers in Oil City are under attack by City Management and are being threatened with a station closing and staffing layoffs.The City Manager insists on closing 1 of the 2 Fire Houses and laying off 3-4 members. The PPFFA will be conducting a literature drop in Oil City on October 22, 2016. We will begin at 9:00 at a site to be determined.
