Guns and Hoses Hockey
Guns & Hoses Charity Hockey Benefit Saturday 3/28 Come out and support your local Police and Fire hockey teams.All proceeds will go to the Last Call Foundation in support of Blue Hills regional teacher Katherine Sullivan, who is running this years Boston Marathon for the Last Call Foundation. Admission is 10$ for adults, kids under 10 free. We will have a 50/50 raffle,Chuck-a-puck contest, and raffle items for auction. It is with great sorrow that the WSCFF and Bremerton Fire Fighters IAFF Local 437 announce the line of duty death of firefighter/paramedic James Hendryx. Brother Hendryx, 47, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017, from Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. This is the first line of duty death in the 114 year history of the Bremerton Fire Department.

Gerald Dean Marlatt Posted on January 17, 2017 Gerald Dean Marlatt “Jerry”, passed away January 9, 2017 at his home in Emmett Kansas at the age of 72. Jerry was born January 28, 1944 in Topeka Kansas to Herbert Max Marlatt and Marguerite Jane (Spaeth) Crowe. At the time he was the largest baby ever delivered at Stormont-Vail hospital at 14lbs 7oz.

January 15, 2017 – At 13:46 South Metro Firefighters were dispatched to a reported residential structure fire in the 7300 block of South Yampa Street.  A neighbor dialed 911 and reported visible smoke coming from a nearby garage.  Battalion 32 upgraded the response to confirmed structure fire, prompting the dispatch of additional units.

Cunningham Fire Rescue kicked off Fire Prevention Week with an open house at Station 62 16758 E. Smoky Hill Rd in Centennial on October 8th 2016. The community came out to tour the station, check out the apparatus, meet with firefighters and learn about fire safety. The department also provided child safety seat checks and a free pancake breakfast.

Westport Firefighters Respond to Fatal Accident on Merritt Parkway

On January 11th 2017, a New Jersey man was killed today in a rollover in the southnound lanes of the Merritt Parkway just south of Exit 41 in Westport around 10:30 a.m., state police said. He was identified as Robert G. Bearden, 76, of Florham Park, New Jersey. Traffic was backed up as police carried out an investigation.
Westport Firefighters Respond to Fatal Accident on I-95

On December 31st 2016 I-95 northbound between Exits 17 and 18 in Westport was shut down today following a fatal crash between Hales Road and Hillspoint Road. A rear seat passenger in a van not wearing a seat belt was killed when he was ejected from the vehicle after it was rear-ended, went down an embankment, and rolled over, state police said. Three persons in the van were injured.

A rollover accident on the Merritt Parkway tonight sent a car into the woods just off of Westport’s Twin Oaks Lane, killing a Stamford woman, state police said. Brown, 51, died and a passenger, Donell Alston, 40, suffered non life-threatening injuries, police said.
